The wp_options table in your wordpress database holds very important information regarding your wordpress site. Under certain circumstances you may need to get access to this important table to make a change. Typically you would use a database management or web based database manager such as PHPMyAdmin to access your database and make the change to the table that way. With this little wordpress trick you can view/edit the wp_options table from the wordpress dashboard.
Log in to the wordpress dashbaord of the wordpress site where you wish to access the wp_options table. This will not work at all if you are not logged in.
After you have logged in, look up to the URL that your browser is pointing to, which should be:
To the end of this URL, after the last forward slash, add the text; options.php. Your URL should now look like this:
After pressing ENTER the wp_options table will be displayed in a nice web view. You have access to change almost any of the information (except certain serialized data which you will see you can not change) of the table. BE CAREFUL and only use this if you know what you are doing, making certain changes can break your website. However, I thought this was worth mentioning as it can be very convenient and also fix your websites in some situations.
